German firms launch new solar projects delivering renewable power

The meistro r.e GmbH commissioned the 8.755 MW Solarpark Brandscheid in Rheinland‑Pfalz. Covering 8.6 ha, the plant produces about 9.2 GWh of electricity a year – enough for roughly 2,000 households – and saves an estimated 5,400 t of CO₂ annually. The project, secured by a long‑term power purchase agreement, required extensive ordnance clearance from World‑War‑II remnants and a 12‑km medium‑voltage line under challenging geology. Biodiversity measures include a field‑lark habitat and wildlife‑permeable fencing.

In Bobingen, Bavaria, Hufschmied Zerspanungssysteme GmbH installed two rooftop photovoltaic systems with 706 panels and a 92 kWh battery. The installations are expected to generate around 180 MWh per year, covering roughly 50 % of the site's electricity demand and reducing CO₂ emissions by about 68 t annually. The company reports that the system will repay its own energy cost in less than two months of operation.
