German football clubs seek momentum in Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga

German football clubs SV Darmstadt 98 and Union Berlin are seeking improvements in their respective leagues.

Following a training trip to the United States, SV Darmstadt 98 coach Florian Kohfeldt expressed optimism about team cohesion after a successful week in San Antonio, where the team played a friendly against San Antonio FC. Despite a difficult start to the season leaving them at the bottom of the table, the club aims to use this renewed energy in their upcoming match against Energie Cottbus. Several players, including Luca Marseiler and Fabian Nürnberger, remain unavailable.

In the Bundesliga, 1. FC Union Berlin faces pressure to secure their first victory of the season against newly promoted SV Elversberg. Under coach Mauro Lustrinelli, the club has struggled defensively, conceding 17 goals in four matches. Union Berlin enters the fixture with significant personnel shortages in their attacking line, including the absence of Emmanuel Latte Lath and uncertainty regarding the availability of Oliver Burke and Andrej Ilic.
