German game publishers Relic and Daedalic unveil Company of Heroes definitive edition and new brand identity
Relic announced a Definitive Edition of the original *Company of Heroes* to mark the game's 20th anniversary. The updated version modernises graphics and technical features while preserving the classic gameplay that introduced self‑preserving units and fully destructible environments. Executive Producer Denise Christie explained that these mechanics gave the 2006 title lasting influence on the real‑time strategy genre.
Separately, Daedalic Entertainment revealed a refreshed logo and visual identity ahead of its 20‑year company anniversary. The redesign reflects the publisher’s shift from in‑house development to an international indie‑games publishing role within the Nacon Group. Daedalic will showcase upcoming titles and expansions during a live online event in August, featuring announcements for games such as *Barotrauma* and *Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown*. CEOs Carsten Fichtelmann and COO Jonas Hüsges highlighted the new branding as a continuation of the company’s founding values while signalling future growth.
