German Greens select new regional leaders in Unna and Hersfeld‑Rotenburg
The Unna district branch of Alliance 90/The Greens approved Dr Ronja Kossack as its Landtag candidate for North Rhine‑Westphalia. Kossack, a 36‑year‑old biotech professor, highlighted her work on bio‑economy, climate protection and sustainable agriculture, and noted her personal commitment to eco‑friendly living.
In the Hersfeld‑Rotenburg district of Hesse, the Greens elected Isabel Marder as the new spokesperson of the district association. Marder, 39, has been a party member for about two years and serves on the district council. She pledged to raise the visibility of Green politics in the region. The newly formed board also includes existing members such as Thomas Bös and Carsten Legel.
Both elections reflect the Greens’ focus on renewing local leadership and promoting their environmental agenda across German regions.
