German gymnastics championships draw hundreds of participants in Heidelberg and Bayreuth

On 4 July 2026 the Vereinsmeisterschaften of the Heidelberg gymnastics club took place, featuring more than 100 girls aged 6 to 16 competing in three rounds. The event, organized by volunteers and supported by parents, concluded with a summer‑fest. Results were published for each age group, with top scores such as Sophia Wipfler (49,600 points) in the 2019/2020 cohort.

At the end of June a separate Franconian championship was held in Bayreuth, where 46 teams and over 500 athletes from across Bavaria competed. TSC Neuendettelsau entered three squads, securing second place in the youth division and third places in both the junior and senior (18+) categories. Coaches Rebecca Bräunlein, Christina Bischoff, Anna Hochgraeber and Felix Hochgraeber were credited for the strong performances, and the newly formed TSC swimming team provided training support.

Both events highlighted the vibrant gymnastics community in Germany and the importance of volunteer and parental involvement in regional sport competitions.
