German handball sees rebranding and new live tour events

The German handball landscape is seeing significant organizational and promotional shifts. The Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg has rebranded as Handball Club Hamburg (HCH). During a presentation at main sponsor Hapag-Lloyd, the club unveiled its new logo and brand identity, aiming for greater independence despite facing substantial financial pressure. Reports indicate the club requires approximately three million euros to achieve economic stability for the upcoming season, with sponsorship revenues seeing shifts, such as Dole reducing its previous payment by nearly half.

On the promotional front, the popular handball talk format "Hand aufs Harz" is launching a live stage tour across seven German cities, including Kiel, Hannover, Cologne, Magdeburg, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Munich. Scheduled from November 16 to December 8, 2026, the tour features moderators Anett Sattler and Markus Götz and serves as a buildup to the 2027 Handball World Championship in Germany.
