German highway incidents cause extensive damage and injuries

A 40‑ton truck driven by a Georgian driver was stopped on the A7 after reaching 121 km/h, far above the 80 km/h limit. He paid a €900 security fee for the speed violation and the disabled speed limiter.

In the Kassel region, a blue BMW X5 was involved in two separate collisions within 20 minutes, fleeing the scenes each time. One driver was lightly injured and the SUV was left with about €10,000 in damage.

On the A9 between Manching and Ingolstadt‑Süd, a 59‑year‑old lorry driver failed to see a traffic jam and rear‑ended three other trailers, creating a chain collision. The crash caused minor injuries, roughly €200,000 in vehicle damage and a temporary full closure of the highway, leading to several kilometres of traffic backlog.
