Germany's NEW bauhaus Festival Gains Federal Patronage Ahead of September Event
The NEW bauhaus innovation festival, scheduled for 2–3 September 2026 in Weimar, will focus on the transformation of the built environment. Federal Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Building Verena Hubertz has accepted the patronage of the event, signalling strong national support.
Thuringian Minister‑President Mario Voigt also endorses the festival, emphasizing its role as an interdisciplinary platform for architecture, urban planning, construction, real‑estate, science, politics and the creative industries. Organisers highlight topics such as sustainable building materials, digitalisation, circular economy and cultural dimensions. Michael Kynast, managing director of Messe Erfurt GmbH, noted that the festival aims to bring together ideas and innovations to shape tomorrow’s built environment.
