German industrial firms Palfinger and Trumpf report mixed 2026 earnings
Palfinger posted slightly higher revenue in the first half of 2026, up 2.3% to €1.17 billion, but its EBIT fell 7% to €84.1 million as the company cited pressure from the Iran‑Israel conflict and U.S. tariffs.
Trumpf reported a modest revenue increase to €4.34 billion and a 7% rise in order intake to €4.5 billion, indicating a tentative recovery after three years of declining orders. The U.S. became its largest single market with €760 million in sales, overtaking Germany, while China remained the biggest Asian market despite a 7% decline. Growth was recorded across all divisions, including machine tools, laser technology and semiconductor‑related activities. The firm employed about 16,960 people worldwide as of 30 June 2026.
