German Influencer Hanadi Diab Fined Record €36,000 for Undisclosed Ads
Stuttgart‑based influencer Hanadi Diab was ordered to pay a €36,000 fine by the Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden‑Württemberg (LFK), bringing the total cost to €37,803.50 when fees are included. The penalty, the highest ever imposed by the regulator on an influencer, relates to several Instagram stories posted between May and July 2025 that promoted products without clear advertising labels or with labels that were too small or indistinct. Diab, who has roughly 760,000 followers on Instagram, had previously been warned by the LFK in 2020 and 2022 about proper ad disclosures. After the fine became final, Diab filed for personal insolvency.
The LFK said it considered the repeated nature of the violations, the large reach of Diab’s account, the monetary value of the collaborations and the earlier warnings when calculating the sanction. The regulator emphasised that advertising must be instantly recognisable to avoid misleading consumers.
