Israel Defense Forces report 100,000 strikes across Middle East since October 2023
Three years after the October 7 attacks, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported striking approximately 100,000 targets across the Middle East. The strikes were distributed among the Gaza Strip (65,000), Lebanon and Syria (28,000), Iran (4,500), and Yemen (80).
The conflict has resulted in significant casualties and humanitarian devastation. Gaza's health ministry reports that over 74,000 Palestinians have been killed, with nearly 1.9 million people displaced and a vast majority of the territory's housing stock damaged or destroyed. Additionally, more than 2,000 Gazans have died while awaiting medical evacuation due to the ongoing siege and the closure of the Rafah crossing.
In Israel, the military reported 970 soldiers killed in service over the past three years. IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir characterized the initial October 7 attacks as a 'painful failure.' In the West Bank, the military stated it has detained approximately 45,000 people for questioning during this period.
