German Leaders Roswitha Schäffner, Angelika Schraml Retire After Decades

Roswitha Schäffner was honored in a small ceremony in Taufkirchen after 24 years as chair of the Pfarrgemeinderat and 12 years heading the Pfarrverbandrat. Former council members and clergy attended, recalling projects and challenges, and presented her with gifts as thanks for her long‑term, dedicated service.

In Tirschenreuth, Angelika Schraml left her post at the Volkshochschule after 39 years of district service and 17 years as its director. She reflected that the adult‑education centre was “a real matter of the heart.” The district appointed Sebastian Voit, a former marketing manager and company director, to succeed her on 1 August 2026, promising fresh ideas for the institution.
