German Light Lab F. Lux Launches Free Summer Workshops for Youth

The student research laboratory F. Lux in Neheim, Germany, has expanded its summer programme to coincide with the school holidays. The exhibition will be open on Thursday afternoons and all day on Fridays throughout August, and visitors who use the promo code "SOMMER" receive free admission for the month.

New workshop formats have been added, including a two‑day makerthon called "Make a Ton of Great Ideas" where teenagers develop prototypes or app concepts, and a "Pixelbox" session where participants build a programmable LED pixel box from laser‑cut parts to a finished product. Additional events cover CAD drawing, 3D printing, constructing a neon table lamp and experiments on light, colour and spectra. The activities target pupils from grades 7 to 13 as well as families, and are funded to be free of charge.
