German local authorities modernize social welfare administration software

German local authorities are navigating the digitalization of social administration through software implementation and standardization efforts. In the Dachau district, the social welfare office successfully transitioned to the LÄMMkom LISSA integrated software provided by Lämmerzahl GmbH. This move was prompted by the upcoming end of manufacturer support for their previous system, OK. SOZIUS, and the need for a solution that covers asylum seeker benefits, housing allowance, and basic security under SGB XII.

In Baden-Württemberg, the District Association is pushing for the unification of IT specialist procedures across all districts to address inefficiencies. Currently, many digital applications do not transfer data automatically to administrative systems, forcing staff to manually re-enter information. To resolve these gaps in digital workflows, various regional associations and the municipal IT service provider Komm. ONE have agreed on a project to standardize social sector IT procedures across the state.
