German Golf Clubs Host Ladies First Tournament and Cologne Summer Festival

On July 26, Golfclub Ruhpolding in Germany held the annual “Ladies First” competition. Despite rain after the first 45 minutes, the event proceeded with a handicap‑relevant 18‑hole stableford. Paula Kaindl dominated the field, posting 31 gross points and 45 net points to win both the overall and Net Class A titles, as well as the Longest‑Drive prize.

Later in the summer, the Cologne Golf Club hosted a mixed‑gender golf festival for about 80 participants. The event featured team competitions, a guessing game organized by Dagmar Schulz’s No. 18 fashion line, and a concluding buffet. Team “Lost im Rough” topped the first net class, while Thomas Dinter won the guessing contest for the number of tea‑bags in a glass. The day concluded with a celebratory terrace gathering.

Both tournaments highlighted strong community participation, competitive play, and local sponsorships, underscoring the vitality of amateur golf in Germany.
