German mayors mark first 100 days in office

Following the assumption of office by 16 newly elected mayors on May 1, local leaders in Germany are marking their first 100 days in office.

In Gerhardshofen, acting mayor Reinhard Seefried (CSU) has transitioned into his role with familiarity, having previously served as deputy mayor for six years.

In Olching, Maximilian Gigl (CSU) has taken over the mayoral position after an 18-year period of leadership under previous administration. Gigl, who also served six years as deputy mayor, has emphasized the importance of modern communication, utilizing social media platforms like Instagram and WhatsApp to explain political decisions and municipal actions to citizens.
