German municipalities hold naturalization ceremonies
Municipalities in Germany held ceremonies to welcome new citizens. In Erkrath, Mayor Christoph Schultz hosted approximately 40 individuals for a traditional naturalization celebration. The group represented diverse origins, including Serbia, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Italy, Syria, Bolivia, Russia, Romania, Turkey, Poland, and Great Britain. Participants shared personal stories regarding their journeys to Germany through work, study, or refuge.
In Baden-Baden, Mayor Tobias Krammerbauer presided over a ceremony in the Old Council Chamber where three new citizens received their certificates. The event included approximately 40 guests who had been naturalized in the previous year. During his address, Krammerbauer emphasized that citizenship does not require abandoning one's original culture but involves a commitment to community responsibility and civic engagement.
