German municipalities launch citizen surveys on wind energy and rural development
In Bergneustadt, the Oberbergischer Kreis and the city are conducting an informal citizen survey regarding the potential installation of wind turbines in the Beulberg area. The survey aims to gather public opinion on wind energy use, specifically concerning lands owned by the Oberbergischer Kreis that could accommodate up to two turbines, and a potential third turbine east of the Beulberg. Participation is open until October 25, 2026, and the results will serve as information for political decision-making.
Separately, in the ILE Brückenland Bayern-Böhmen region, a student from OTH Amberg-Weiden is conducting an online survey to assess how residents perceive intercommunal cooperation and Integrated Rural Development (ILE) measures. The survey, running from October 10 to October 25, targets residents of several municipalities including Oberviechtach, Altendorf, and Eslarn to understand the visibility and impact of regional development projects.
