German municipalities renovate local cemeteries
Municipalities in Germany are implementing landscaping and preservation projects at local cemeteries to enhance their atmosphere and historical value.
In Aschau im Chiemgau, municipal workers have completed a professional replanting project. The initiative included planting 13 new trees to provide natural shade and improve the aesthetic appeal of the site. Additionally, new seating areas were installed to allow visitors to sit and reflect.
In Nabburg, the city cemetery is undergoing a transformation into a park-like memorial site. As more graves are decommissioned, the project focuses on preserving significant historical gravestones, particularly around the cemetery cross, to maintain the site's character and heritage.
