German municipalities seek tree donations for holiday decorations

Several German municipalities are calling on residents to donate large conifers for public holiday decorations.

In Hütschenhausen, the local community is looking for trees from private gardens that have grown too large. The municipal depot offers free collection services for these donations. As a sustainability measure, the community also planted smaller trees in 2024 that will be decorated annually as they grow.

Similarly, the city of Dillingen an der Donau is seeking well-grown, uniform Christmas trees to decorate public squares. The city's municipal depot will transport donated trees free of charge following an inspection and scheduled appointment. The city also offers a small token of thanks to all donors.
