Gina H. found legally responsible in Fabian murder trial

A psychiatric expert has testified at the Rostock Regional Court that Gina H., the defendant accused of murdering eight-year-old Fabian in Güstrow, is legally responsible for her actions. Dr. Peter Keiper, a forensic psychiatrist, stated that while the defendant exhibits a borderline personality disorder and a moderate learning disability, these conditions do not significantly impair her ability to control her actions or recognize the wrongfulness of the alleged crime.

Dr. Keiper described the defendant’s emotional state as “astonishingly emotionless,” noting that she showed little empathy and only wept regarding her own son or her horses. This contradicts the defendant's claims that she viewed the boy as a son.

The case stems from the death of Fabian, who was killed and subsequently burned in October 2025. Investigators believe the child was lured from his home and killed near a pond in Klein Upahl. The trial is nearing its conclusion, with a verdict expected around November 10, provided there are no further delays.
