German Museum-Digital Uploads Historic Soldier, Soup Pack and Communion Photos

Three recent additions to the Museum‑Digital platform illustrate Germany’s diverse photographic heritage. One image shows a young mountain‑infantry trainee in uniform, dated to the early 20th century, with visible Edelweiß insignia and a possible Hitler Youth badge. Another item is a fragment of a 1954 Küßner’s tomato‑soup‑with‑fat packet, originally used by a couple camping on the Mecklenburg lakes, bearing original branding and preparation instructions. The third photograph captures a girl in a traditional early‑communion dress from around 1918‑1922, complete with candle and ritual accessories.

All three objects have been digitised and made freely accessible for non‑commercial use under Creative Commons licenses, providing researchers and the public with high‑resolution views of historical German life, from military youth to post‑war food culture and early‑20th‑century religious customs.
