German museums digitize historic artworks from early 20th century

The Museum of the City of Eschborn has digitized a 1906 colour print by Fritz Boehle showing a river landscape with a rider and his horse on the near bank, featuring a settlement with a chapel in the background. The print, part of a limited edition of 44 copies, is now available under a CC BY‑NC‑SA licence.

The Landesgeschichtliche Vereinigung für die Mark Brandenburg archive in Berlin has released a pencil drawing of an unknown man from the early 19th century. The sketch, likely created by an unidentified hand, was examined in the context of a monograph on painter Anton von Werner and is housed in the archive’s graphic collection under a CC BY licence.
