German museums digitize new historical artifacts

Museum Guntersblum added two ceramic sherds recovered from a settlement hill near its waterworks. The fragments, collected by Volker Kemmeter in March 2011, are dated to the Hallstatt‑Latène Iron Age (c. 800 BC – 1 BC) and are documented on the museum‑digital platform under a CC BY‑NC‑SA licence.

Heimathaus Borghorst listed a historic pharmacy sealing tool: a copper pan containing hardened sealing lacquer used to melt over bottle corks for airtight closure. The item, also presented on museum‑digital Westfalen, is available for non‑commercial reuse with attribution. Both entries expand Germany’s digital cultural‑heritage records.
