German museums host autumn holiday workshops

Several German museums are hosting educational workshops for children and families during the autumn holidays.

In Wiesbaden, the Stadtmuseum is offering three free workshops at the WerkRaum from October 12 to October 14. Activities include Roman-style writing with papyrus and ink, creating Bauhaus-inspired postcards using geometric shapes and primary colors, and medieval-style finger weaving to create jewelry. These sessions are part of the museum's 10th-anniversary celebrations.

In Merseburg, the Kulturhistorische Museum Schloss Merseburg is conducting a 'Building with Wood' project on October 22, 27, and 29. Participants will explore the properties of different wood types, testing heat retention, water expansion, and load-bearing capacity. The project accompanies the special exhibition 'Holzwege,' which showcases sustainable wood construction in Central Germany.
