German Museums Hösseringen and Marburg Showcase New Exhibits and TV Coverage

The open‑air Museumsdorf Hösseringen in Lower Saxony is leveraging last year’s filming of the series “Schwarzes Gold.” Museum director Dr. Ulrich Brohm said the footage has attracted online attention and will draw visitors as the "Dorfgasthof" set is reconstructed with authentic props. Visitor numbers reached 22,830 in 2025, with most guests coming from outside the Uelzen district. The museum also celebrated its 50th anniversary, began rebuilding the Linden house, and added events such as the first Lower Saxony timber‑carving championship and new youth programmes.

In Marburg, the Police‑Oldtimer Museum, run by the volunteer Police‑Motorsport‑Club, was featured in a live segment of Hessischer Rundfunk’s "hallo hessen" on 27 June 2025. Presenter Eberhard Dersch showcased more than 110 historic police vehicles, including a VW T1, VW Kübel, Mercedes‑Benz 190 c, and an Opel model, ahead of the museum’s summer festival and its 25th anniversary. Both museums aim to boost regional tourism and cultural engagement.
