German museums showcase historical artifacts and military textiles

Museums in Germany are showcasing historical artifacts, including a marksman's jacket from approximately 1913 and a scarcity card for industrial goods.

The jacket, belonging to Friedrich Müller, a master painter from Bad Sachsa, is a double-breasted tunic made of dark wool with a green velvet collar and staghorn buttons. Müller, who participated in World War I from its beginning, died in 1916; the jacket was preserved in excellent condition and was likely never worn.

Additionally, the Heimatmuseum Borsdorf holds a scarcity card for industrial finished goods issued to Petra Franke. The cardboard card, used for the equitable distribution of items such as soap, textiles, and shoes in the Grimma and Wurzen districts, features official seals and stamps from a local shoemaker.
