German music school concerts highlight young talent

The Sparkassenstiftung Passau held its 17th concert on 28 November 2024 in the Festsaal of Auersperg‑Gymnasium, Passau. Young musicians from the municipal music school and the district music school performed, and double bassist Clara Eckert and pianist Sophie Schwarz received the foundation’s youth music award for their competition successes. The event, described by the foundation’s board chairman as a "great stage for our Nachwuchstalente", was free to the public with optional donations.

On 2 August 2024 the Traunstein city music school presented its traditional summer concert “CANARIO XXIIIb” in the town hall’s Great Hall. The program featured the guitar class of Alfred Schillmeier together with professional musicians, offering a repertoire that included songs by Norah Jones, Carlos Santana, the Eagles and ABBA. The concert emphasized the collaboration between student and professional performers and was free for children and teenagers.
