German musicians Davin Herbrüggen and Mark Medlock announce new projects

Several German musicians are marking new chapters in their careers. Davin Herbrüggen, the 2019 DSDS winner, has released a new single titled ‘Nie allein’. The song, produced with Sascha Urbanzyk, blends rock and Schlager elements. Herbrüggen noted that the inspiration for the track came from thoughts shared by Hape Kerkeling regarding ancestral connections and the idea that no one is truly alone.

Meanwhile, former DSDS winner Mark Medlock is making a musical comeback with his new album, ‘Back Into The Sun’. Medlock recently performed on the stage of Florian Silbereisen during the ‘Schlagerboom Open Air 2026’. In discussing his return, Medlock expressed a desire to evolve his sound while still honoring his past through re-recorded versions of older songs.
