German Navy reports increased electronic interference in the Baltic Sea

The German Navy has reported an increase in electronic interference and manipulation of ship positioning signals in the Baltic Sea. Steffen Lange, head of the Bundeswehr's Naval Shipping Management, described the region as a “land of plenty for electronic anomalies,” noting that radio signals are being increasingly disrupted and falsified.

Lange highlighted a specific incident involving a passenger ship traveling toward Finland that was unable to reliably determine its position via satellite data. He characterized these developments as a growing form of electronic warfare, suggesting active interference from Russia that affects all vessels at sea.

In a related incident, the Danish Ministry of Defense reported that a Russian frigate fired two flares at a Danish military helicopter near the town of Gedser, located across from Rostock, Germany.
