German Navy submarine U36 spotted off Cuxhaven

The German Navy submarine U36, a 57-meter long Type 212A vessel, was spotted traveling on the surface near Cuxhaven on the North Sea coast.

The submarine was returning to its home port in Eckernförde, Schleswig-Holstein, following its participation in the multinational NATO military exercise ‘Strike Warrior 26’ near Scotland. During the exercise, which involved over 2,000 soldiers from six nations, the U36 supported British special forces in a covert landing operation near Cape Wrath. The crew utilized inflatable boats to reach land and establish an observation post to coordinate target fire from a Portuguese frigate.
