German occupational therapists highlight pediatric support for World Children's Day

In observance of World Children's Day on September 20, the German Association of Occupational Therapy (DVE) has highlighted the role of pediatric occupational therapy in supporting child development. Under the motto ‘Strong Children, Strong Future!’, professionals emphasize a resource-oriented approach to help children and adolescents overcome deficits or find alternative solutions.

Occupational therapist Heike Musa notes that timely support is essential for strengthening young people. This includes addressing motor development delays, such as issues with pencil grip that can affect school readiness, as well as challenges related to attention and concentration.

Experts recommend that parents closely observe their children at home to see if developmental observations made by educators in kindergartens or schools align with domestic behavior, as certain difficulties may only manifest in specific environments.
