German parishes host organ concerts for local anniversaries

Several German communities are hosting musical events to celebrate local church milestones. In Haisterkirch, the parish is marking the 25th anniversary of its organ with a festival week. The celebrations include an evensong performed by the newly founded Oratorienchor Bad Waldsee under the direction of Leo Straßner, followed by a family service and community festival.

In Bernau am Chiemsee, the parish church of St. Laurentius is celebrating a double anniversary for both the municipality and the church. A festive organ concert featuring the German-Slovenian duo Barbara and Ulrich Theißen Pibernik is scheduled for September 19. The performance will showcase works by composers such as Mozart and Hans-André Stamm on the Schmid organ.
