St. Willibrord Parish in Kleve Holds Water‑Themed Service

On Sunday, 9 August 2026 at 18:30, the St. Willibrord Parish in Kleve hosted a “back‑and‑forth” worship service in the inner courtyard of the Rindernein water castle. The evening’s focus was water – its life‑giving, connecting, and destructive powers.

The program revisited the 2021 Ahr‑valley flood through the “Ahrtal‑Psalm” by Stephan Wahl and featured testimonies from volunteers who helped during the disaster. It also explored water’s beauty, physics, and spiritual significance, offered a hands‑on experiment for attendees, and featured music by Christophe Knabe. The service was organized entirely by volunteers, with a follow‑up service scheduled for 11 October 2026.

The event combined reflection, community sharing, and celebration of the natural element that shaped recent local history.
