Homeowners are advised to look for unusual strands on doors and to report any findings to the police rather than removing them themselves.

Separately, the Sparkasse financial group cautions its customers about a wave of phishing emails that claim an urgent account update is required before July 22. The messages mimic official Sparkasse branding and contain links to fraudulent login pages, after which attackers may also place phone calls impersonating bank staff to obtain passwords or approve transactions. Customers are urged not to click links, verify any requests through official channels, and report suspicious emails to the bank.
