On 27 July 2026 a vehicle driven by a 21‑year‑old Islamist identified as Abdul B. rammed into the crowd at Berlin’s Christopher Street Day (CSD) parade, killing one woman and injuring 29 others. The attacker, previously listed as a “Gefährder”, was shot dead by police after a pursuit.

In response, German police have increased personnel and bolstered protective measures for the upcoming CSD in Hamburg, which is expected to draw around 250 000 participants.
