German police detain two fugitives in separate raids

German federal police arrested a 29‑year‑old man suspected of a 2019 armed robbery at a consumer market in Aidlingen after he was stopped during a border check of a bus traveling from Prague to London near Waidhaus, Bavaria. The suspect, who had an open arrest warrant issued in 2020, was found with marijuana in his backpack and was handed over to the Böblingen court for detention.

In a separate operation in the city of Offenbach, police apprehended a 34‑year‑old man wanted under an international arrest warrant during a night‑time safety sweep. The arrest was part of the “Sichere Innenstadt” security campaign that also included speed checks on the B448 and inspections of local venues. The man was placed in police custody and will be presented before a judge.
