German police detain two men near Füssen for attempted illegal entry

German Federal Police have detained two Pakistani nationals following an attempted illegal entry via the border tunnel near Füssen. The individuals were discovered during a vehicle inspection on the A7 motorway in Ostallgäu.

Authorities determined that both men had previously entered Germany in September 2023, but their asylum applications had been rejected. They had reportedly evaded German authorities throughout 2026. The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Afghan national, is under investigation for suspected human smuggling, although he was released following consultation with the Kempten Public Prosecutor's Office due to a deportation ban.

The two Pakistani men have been placed in deportation detention in Hof.
