German police join Dutch coastal patrols in Scheveningen and Kijkduin

For the 28th consecutive year, police officers from Düsseldorf have been deployed to The Hague’s coastal districts of Scheveningen and Kijkduin as part of an annual exchange programme. The German officers work alongside Dutch colleagues, taking part in surveillance duties, visiting tourist sites and the police dog unit.

During the exchange they have assisted with incidents such as a traffic accident with injuries and the illness of a German tourist, using their language skills to facilitate communication. The partnership will continue over the next three weekends, and later this year Dutch officers will travel to Düsseldorf to help police the Christmas market there. Residents and visitors are encouraged to approach the German officers.
