German police officer sentenced to prison for rape and child pornography

The Traunstein District Court has sentenced 55-year-old Maja S., a suspended officer of the German Federal Police, to three years and three months in prison without probation. The conviction follows a guilty plea for the rape of a 15-year-old girl, sexual abuse, bodily harm, and the possession of child pornography.

The assault occurred in August 2025 at a fast-food restaurant restroom during a trip with the victim, who is the daughter of a friend. Investigators noted that the defendant used her physical size to corner the victim in a locked restroom stall.

During the investigation, authorities discovered approximately 2,000 files containing child pornography and material involving bestiality. While the defendant was convicted of possessing child pornography, the court did not issue a conviction regarding the distribution of such material. The case drew significant attention due to the defendant's identity; Maja S. is a transgender woman who had legally changed her gender marker several years prior. The presiding judge emphasized that the defendant's gender identity did not influence the legal assessment of the crimes.
