German police probe car break‑ins in Itzehoe and child traffic crash in Lower Saxony

In the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, unknown suspects broke into at least ten cars in the centre of Itzehoe, shattering side windows and rummaging through the interiors. Police discovered the damaged vehicles at the district court parking lot on Theodor‑Heuss‑Platz and in nearby streets, have classified the incidents as aggravated theft and are asking witnesses to contact them at 04821 6020.

In Lower Saxony, police are investigating a burglary at a car workshop in Ihlow where technical equipment and two vehicles were stolen, and a similar break‑in at another workshop in Norden, with a possible link under review. At the same time, an eight‑year‑old child was seriously injured in Aurich after crossing the road and being hit by a Mercedes driven by a 58‑year‑old woman.
