German police receive new leads in Inga Gehricke cold case

Police investigators in Germany announced that a recent broadcast of the cold case of five‑year‑old Inga Gehricke, who vanished on 2 May 2015 near the Wilhelmshof site in the Stendal district, has generated a wave of new information. In a segment of ZDF’s programme “Aktenzeichen XY … ungelöst”, Polizeihauptkommissar Michael Ripke revealed that roughly 30 fresh tips have been received, including alleged sightings of the girl on a toy horse near the former grill area.

The investigative team based in Halle, which took over the case from Stendal in 2023, is now reviewing and evaluating these leads. Authorities are urging anyone who may have observed relevant details, even if previously reluctant, to come forward via the dedicated hotline or email. Police officials expressed cautious optimism that the new information could provide the decisive clue needed to resolve the eleven‑year‑old disappearance.
