German police report alcohol-related offenses and resistance

Police in Germany have reported two separate incidents involving alcohol-related offenses and public disturbance.

In Zella-Mehlis, officers from the Suhl Inspection Service stopped a 49-year-old driver. An initial breathalyzer test showed a level of 0.62 per mille, while a subsequent measurement with a court-admissible device recorded 0.52 per mille. The driver was prohibited from continuing the journey, and legal proceedings regarding violations of the road traffic act have been initiated.

In a separate incident near Sulzbach-Rosenberg on the B 85 highway, a 30-year-old man was taken into custody after resisting police intervention. Officers responded to reports of a stranded vehicle and a confused, shouting individual. The man, who appeared heavily intoxicated, reportedly insulted officers and resisted arrest, necessitating that police restrain and handcuff him. He faces investigations for resistance against law enforcement officers, insult, and driving under the influence.
