German police seize cash and watches in raid on Canadian cannabis smuggling ring

Police and customs officials in Hannover arrested four suspects and searched nine premises as part of an investigation into an organized drug‑smuggling network. Authorities say the group was importing roughly 100 kg of cannabis from Canada, intercepted earlier at Frankfurt Airport. The operation, led by the Zollfahndungsamt Hannover, the Landeskriminalamt Niedersachsen and the Hildesheim public prosecutor’s office, also uncovered small amounts of cocaine and amphetamines.

Investigators seized about €45,000 in cash, two luxury watches valued at around €80,000, additional mobile phones and digital storage devices, as well as minor quantities of other narcotics. One suspect initially resisted but was overpowered; no injuries were reported.
