German police seize weapons, detain illegal migrants at Bavarian border
German police conducting border checks on the A6 near the former Waidhaus crossing seized multiple prohibited weapons. Five individuals were cited: a 19‑year‑old German with an electro‑impulse device and a knuckle duster, a 20‑year‑old German with a knuckle duster and an unmarked soft‑air pistol, a 21‑year‑old German with another unmarked soft‑air pistol, a 33‑year‑old Ukrainian with a spring knife, and an 18‑year‑old German with an additional spring knife. All weapons, including two soft‑air pistols, two knuckle dusters, an electro‑impulse device and two spring knives, were confiscated and investigations were opened.
In a separate traffic police operation on the A6 near Neuendettelsau, officers stopped a vehicle carrying five occupants. Among them, a 38‑year‑old Georgian national was found to have overstayed in the Schengen area since March 2026, violating visa limits. Two other Georgian passengers were discovered with forged documents: one possessed a counterfeit Georgian driver’s licence, and another carried a fake identification card allegedly obtained at the request of a third party. Criminal proceedings were initiated for all violations.
