German Police Unveil Conspiracy‑Myths Educational Poster
The Police Crime Prevention program (ProPK) together with the Prevention department of the Baden‑Württemberg State Criminal Police Office has released a downloadable "Wimmelbild" (hidden‑picture poster) titled "Verschwörungsmythen". The poster displays 40 clues related to conspiracy theories, politically motivated crime, civil courage, violence and graffiti, aiming to help young, internet‑savvy citizens recognise and critically assess such myths.
Designed as a low‑threshold teaching tool, the poster builds on the interactive film "Chris + Lea" from the "Zivilen Helden" campaign. Sophie von Bissingen, editor at Polizeiliche Kriminalprävention, explained that the visual format encourages discussion, curiosity and the ability to question misinformation. The PDF is available for download on the police website.
The initiative seeks to strengthen civil courage and improve public understanding of how conspiracy narratives can intersect with criminal activity.
