German-Polish cultural and cross-border cooperation initiatives

Cultural and cooperative initiatives are highlighting German-Polish relations through events in border regions. On November 7, 2026, the Europa-Union Berlin will host an excursion to the twin cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice. The program includes a visit to the Collegium Polonicum, a joint institution of the Europa-Universität Viadrina and Adam-Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and a discussion at the Frankfurt-Słubice Cooperation Center regarding cross-border administrative and political challenges.

In Görlitz, the German-Polish photo exhibition ‘Zeichen der Zeit. Deutsche Inschriften in Schlesien’ (Signs of the Time. German Inscriptions in Silesia) is concluding its run. The exhibition, which documents German historical traces in Silesia through the photography of Thomas Voßbeck and texts by curator Dawid Smolorz, will host its final guided tour on October 25, 2026. The exhibition concludes on November 1, 2026, with a film matinee featuring ‘Nova Silesia,’ a documentary focusing on the modern economic and cultural development of the Silesia region.
