German political groups hold events on civic values and child protection
Local political organizations in Germany held events addressing social responsibility and civic values. In Bisingen, the CDU local association and the Seniors' Union hosted a reading by former Minister Ulrich Müller. Müller discussed his book, ‘Kompass Politischer Kultur’, which examines the need for a moral compass in democracy, addressing issues such as social division, digital communication tone, and declining international standing.
In the Warendorf district, the CDA and the Women's Union organized a discussion on child protection. Featuring guest speaker Christina Schulze Föcking, the event emphasized the importance of active intervention to prevent sexual abuse. Participants noted that increased reporting in the region may stem from improved cooperation between youth welfare offices, schools, and law enforcement, alongside new child protection legislation in North Rhine-Westphalia.
