German Primary Schools Receive Food‑Rescue Funding and Snack Box Donations
Students of Grundschule Rednitzhembach raised €400 through school fundraisers and donated the money to the food‑rescue organization in Schwabach. The funds will cover fuel costs for collecting surplus produce, and the pupils visited the organisation, learning how rescued food is sorted and distributed, and helped prepare a fruit salad.
At Grund‑ und Mittelschule Eiselfing, classes 4a and 6a each received a "Brotzeitbox" from the initiative "Unsere Bayerischen Bauern". The boxes were presented by local farmer and nutrition specialist Bernadette Obermaier, who also gave a lesson on healthy eating and organized a milk‑tasting session supported by the Bavarian Milk Promotion Fund. Both events highlight school‑led efforts to reduce food waste and promote nutrition.
