German Primary Schools Secure Wins in Bike and Development Policy Competitions

In the Altenburger Land of Thuringia, 44 fourth‑grade pupils took part in a regional bicycle‑training final held at the traffic garden in Altenburg. Hayley Stötzner (Grundschule Nobitz) and Gabriel Kirschnick (Grundschule Schmölln) topped the girls' and boys' categories and will compete in the Thuringian state finals in September in Erfurt.

At the Antonius von Padua School in Fulda, classes 3 and 4 earned second place in a nationwide school competition on development policy focused on disinformation. The students produced a short film that examined the UN Sustainable Development Goals and proposed practical actions for their school. The award ceremony in Berlin was attended by Federal Development Minister Reem Alabali Radovan, and teachers Anne Braun and Veronika Schollmeyer received additional recognition from the state of Hesse.
